Rich with history and quietly rebellious, RVA blends cobblestone streets, river views, and a creative pulse that feels unmistakably its own.
Poe House

A quick pilgrimage into shadow and ink. Creaking floors, brick walls, and the quiet reminder that Richmond holds its ghosts close—and poetically.
Canal Walk

Industrial bones softened by water and sky. A peaceful stroll where history runs parallel to the river.
Benchtop Brewery + Fountain Bookstore

Books, boardgames, and a raspberry ginger mocktail paired with a hotdog. Equal parts literary lounge and laid-back RVA charm.
Dinner at Brickfire (Downtown)
A perfect meal. Meatball pizza with pickled Fresnos, Fresno honey, and basil—bold and balanced. Hanger steak cooked flawlessly with chimichurri and fingerling potatoes, plus cauliflower appetizer and tiramisu with french press. Fucking glorious.

Altria Theater – Kill Tony (feat. Harland Williams)
The Kill Tony tour brings stand-up sets from comedians featured on the podcast—sharp, polished, and consistently funny. Harland Williams was a highlight. Ran into him randomly and got a fist bump—genuinely nice guy. A high-energy night of comedy that had the room buzzing well after the show ended.

Wonderland

A quick stop for the dive-bar vibes—dim lights, obscure character, and local vibes. Even though I don’t drink, I still appreciate a good dive bar.
Richmond Rooftop View
A brief, slightly rebellious detour into a private party—worth it for the skyline alone. Richmond from above hits different

Old City Hall

Day 2 in RVA

Waking up to snow flurries – The Commonwealth Hotel
Snow flurries drifting past the window, Capitol views, breakfast in bed with a hazelnut latte from downstairs—soft, cinematic perfection.

Belle Isle Pedestrian Bridge
Cold air, river below, and that in-between feeling where nature and city meet.

Hollywood Cemetery
Hauntingly beautiful. Rolling hills, ancient trees, and history layered so thick you can feel it under your feet.

Libby Hill Park (Sunset)
Golden light over the city. One of those moments that makes you understand why people fall for Richmond.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden (Christmas Lights)
Whimsical and glowing—botanicals wrapped in magic. A gentle, luminous ending to the trip.
