The grey area exists somewhere between extremes—it doesn’t reside on one side or the other. It’s nomadic, intermediate; a blurry line.
This is where many undiagnosed, dismissed, and neglected health issues dwell. Some people are bounced back and forth between doctors, never truly receiving help from any of them, or they get by with the small crumbs of progress over time.
The grey area is also the waiting space. It’s waiting for the inevitable, irreversible progression of a diagnosis. It’s knowing the risks but feeling powerless, with no peace of mind. Sometimes, you float between acceptance and anger.
The grey area is where people who don’t fit the one-size-fits-all box find their home.
For many of us, the grey area is all we know. We’re constantly hoping someone will understand us or that a rescue team will come and bring us in.
Awareness is for those of us in the grey area—those seeking to belong, to make sense of things, to find answers, and to not be neglected or alone.
Share your fire until it lights up the sky, defining a new meaning and forging a path where those who were once lost can finally be found.
